Breast Augmentation Techniques

Breast Augmentation, or commonly referred to as “boob job” by patients and the public, in general, is a process that involves the use of artificial implants or fat grafting to increase the size of breasts. It is a procedure used to achieve a more rounded, firm and bigger breast. It increases breast size and projection, enhances self-confidence.

Breast implants can be used to change the size, shape and projection of the breasts, and this practice dates back from the 19th century and hence is a very safe procedure.

There are several types of breast implants such as

Smooth Implants:

Smooth implants, as the name suggests have a smooth & natural feel and look. They move with the breast implant pocket giving it a more natural movement. Smooth implants have a proven safety record and hence most recommended by Dr Rajat Gupta, a board-certified plastic surgeon at RG Aesthetics.

Nano-textured Implants:

Nano-textured implants, as the name suggests have a textured surface to reduce the risk of capsular contraction. The silicone gel-filled inside is the most advanced form of a gel that renders most natural look and feels. These are primarily round implants with ergonomic shape mimicking the natural anatomical shape of breasts. This also prevents the risk of rotation.

Breast Fat Grafting:

This procedure is an alternative to the conventional form of the implant as it uses a different logic by allowing one to use the fat from their own body from the area with excess fat and is injected after being treated to increase the volume of the breast. It is an effective method of increasing the breast size without the long-term issue of maintenance.
